Born November 14, 1840, in Paris,Paris and died December 5, 1926, Claude Monet was an extravagant artist. He has painted over several hundred beautiful paintings over his lifetime of 86 years. Monet's father wanted him to work at the local family grocery business, but instead he wanted to be an artist. In 1851 in the month of April Monet was enrolled in a art school. He had many teacher and tutors to help him with his love of art. He even learned how to oil paint from Eugene Boudin, who later became Monet's mentor.
Sadly January 28, 1857, his mother died. At the young age of sixteen he moved out to live with his aunt Marie-Jeanne, who didn't have children. As a teenager he just sat by his window and painted what he saw. When he got a little older he visited Paris again, his hometown, for three years. Most of his painting are set there, because he said his heart was still there. While staying in Paris he befriended several other inspired artist whom of which are now famously known.
In May of 1871, he left London to go live in the Netherlands. There he painted 25 masterpieces, but later returned to France in November 1871. He later married Camile Doncieux, changing her last name to Monet. She died at ate 35 of turberculosis. Monet later painted a picture of her on her death bed. He had two children with Camile, their names are unknown thought. He lived a long and artistic life.
